Young Adults

Current studies are showing what we have known for years. There is a sharp, even dramatic, decline in both interest and involvement in the continued formation of a person’s spiritual life after high school. Here’s a quote from the Barna Research Group:

“…despite strong levels of spiritual activity during the teen years, most twentysomethings disengage from active participation in the Christian faith during their young adult years - and often beyond that. In total, six out of ten twentysomethings were involved in a church during their teen years, but have failed to translate that into active spirituality during their early adulthood.”

Here’s the greatest need for young adults these days: to think and process the complexities of life from a biblical viewpoint. You need to get into the Bible. You need to wrestle with your questions, pursue truth, and stop thinking you’ve got all you need to live out your life.

To help you on your journey, we have a young adult Bible study on Thursday nights. Our goal is not to create a group or force people into new friendships. There will be a wide range of age, interest and place in life. Recent high school graduates don’t share a lot in common with a twenty something married couple…but what they do share is a common need to be in the God’s Word and actively seeking truth.
